WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE
The Department of Defense's (DoD) Natural Resources Program (NR Program) supports the protection and conservation of all threatened, endangered, and at-risk species found on military installations. This site will provide you with numerous resources about these species and ways to promote their status.
As a part of DoD’s stewardship efforts to protect endangered species and their habitats, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service collaborated with DoD in Fall 2015 to develop a DoD-focused edition of the Endangered Species Bulletin.

Agencies, environmental groups, zoos, parks, aquariums, wildlife refuges, botanic gardens, schools and other organizations held numerous events for the annual Endangered Species Day celebration.
The following pictures were taken by a DoD Legacy Program staff member, who set up a booth to educate the public about the DoD Natural Resources Program and its efforts in conserving threatened and endangered species.
